Radiant: Michelle Willams at the New York premiere of her new film Shutter Island

Michelle Williams proved she is the queen of understated glamour as she took the red carpet for the New York premiere of the highly anticipated new film Shutter Island last night.

While many Hollywood starlets opt for the shortest and tightest dress on offer, the elegant actress looked a picture of sophistication in the simple cream dress.

The confection, which was cut to the knee, featured a ruffle across one-shoulder and she teamed the look with black heels and a small clutch.

Michelle, 29, the former fiancé of the late Heath Ledger, tied her hair back in a soft bun while her subtle make-up left her looking fresh-faced and radiant.

Scroll down to watch the Shutter Island trailer...

Elegant: The actress looked a picture of sophistication in her cream dress

Michelle generally shies away from the spotlight, particularly since Ledger's death in January 2008, but she looked ease as she sashayed past photographers.

Of course, the city is home for Michelle, who lives there Matilda, 4, her daughter from her relationship the tragic Dark Knight star.

She was joined by her Shutter Island co-stars including Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Kingsley as well as the director Martin Scorsese.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the latest offering by Scorsese, who is widely regarded as America's greatest living filmmaker.

Double act: Leonardo DiCaprio with director Martin Scorsese - this film marks their fourth big screen pairing

The film, an adaptation of author Dennis Lehane's thriller, has been described as Scorsese's tribute to the psychological thrillers of Alfred Hitchcock, much to the excitement of many film buffs.

Those lining up to catch a sneak peek at the premiere included 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord, actress Teresa Palmer, Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger and his partner L'Wren Scott.

The film is the fourth pairing for Scorsese with DiCaprio, after Gangs of New York in 2002, The Aviator in 2004 and the 2006's Oscar-winner The Departed.

DiCaprio, 35, said last week: 'Each experience has been unique. It's been a progression, now it's been 10 years.'

Film fans: 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord and actress Teresa Palmer

'I grew up on his work, really,' he said. 'As a younger actor, you'd be a fool not to jump at the opportunity to work with somebody who I consider and many consider the definitive director of our time.'

For the 67-year-old director, the admiration is mutual.

'I see him as a young man developing as a wonderful actor,' he said. 'I'm very happy to be around when this is happening with somebody with such extraordinary talent, to be able to focus that and perfect it.'

The film is set in 1954 amid a climate of Cold War paranoia and it follows the investigation into the disappearance of a murderess from a mental institution on an island.

VIP guests: Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger and L'Wren Scott

Starry night: Sir Ben Kingsley, who also stars in the film, was accompanied by wife Daniela Lavender

DiCaprio plays a U.S. Marshal in Boston looking for the woman, and his involvement in the case starts to make him question his own sanity while Williams plays his wife Dolores.

'This was a complex jigsaw puzzle of emotional back stories and dream sequences and truth and fiction,' DiCaprio said. 'It was challenging and fulfilling.'

Critics have so far delivered mixed reviews, ranging from 'enthralling' to 'flawed' and 'far from Scorsese's best work'.

Shutter Island is released in the UK on March 12.

First look: Russell Brand takes the lead as his new Hollywood film trailer makes its debut online

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQDb6-W0Grsendofvid
[starttext]
By Georgina Littlejohn

I'm a rock 'n' rock star: Russell Brand as British musician Aldous Snow in his new film Get Him To The Greek

We're not sure what the Americans made of him after he was introduced to the Hollywood jet set by pop star fiancee Katy Perry.

But if anything is going to to put Russell Brand firmly on the Tinsletown map, his new comedy might just do the trick.

The first trailer for the British comedian's new film Get Him To The Greek was released in the US today and it has already got cinemagoers on the other side of the Pond talking.

Scroll down to watch the trailer...

Superbad's Jonah Hill plays record company intern Aaron Greenberg who must get Snow from London to Los Angeles for a gig

The film is a spin-off from the 2008 comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall and sees 34-year-old Brand reprising his role as English rock star Aldous Snow who has dramatically fallen off the wagon.

His co-star is Superbad star Jonah Hill who plays college graduate Aaron Greenberg who blags his way into a job as an intern at a record company and is sent to transport Snow from England to a concert at Los Angeles' Greek Theater.

Rapper and entrepreneur Sean 'Diddy' Combs stars as record company executive and Aaron's boss Sergio Roma

Along the way, Aaron encounters drug smugglers in London, fights and brawls in New York City and lap dances in Las Vegas and must navigate his way through all the drama to deliver Snow to his gig.

The film also stars rapper and businessman Sean 'Diddy' Combs as record company executive Sergio Roma, Irish actor and Star Trek: The Next Generation star Colm Meaney as Snow's father Jonathan and Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss also stars as Aaron's girlfriend Daphne

Sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll: Brand's Snow lives up to his rock star reputation

I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles: Snow gets rowdy with some fans of West Ham - the team Brand supports - in Trafalgar Square

There are a number of cameos from many famous faces playing themselves including singers Pink, Christina Aguilera, Metallica's Lars Ulrich and Tom Felton, who is best known for his role as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films.

But the most noticable cameo is from Katy Perry herself, who appeared as herself in the film over a year before she began dating Brand.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait and see the film to spot her brief appearance as she is not featured in the trailer.

During an interview with him on his former Talksport show, which he presented with former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher in September 2008, Brand admitted he tricked her into thinking the cameras were rolling.

He confssed that he told her a hidden camera crew were filming it when they weren't.
But Katy, who was still dating Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy at the time, confessed in a later interview that kissing her future fiance left her feeling very happy.

She said: 'My scene called for me to make out with him. And on the way down the stairs after the scene, I was hopping like a bunny. I hop like a bunny when I'm happy - I get a bit childlike.'

Get Him To The Greek is released on June4 in the US and on June 25 in the UK.

Lord Of The Rings prequel made by a fanatic using her £25,000 life savings scores 500,000 views on the internet

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rOT4IgyGJIendofvid
[starttext]
Hope: Kate Madison's Lord Of The Rings prequel cost her £25,000 to make - a fraction of the cost of the big screen adaptations of the series

She didn't have Peter Jackson's £200million budget, eight years of filming time or the spectacular scenery of New Zealand to work with.

But Kate Madison could match his boundless passion - and with it managed to make her own Lord Of The Rings film.

The amateur actress was so inspired by the blockbuster Rings trilogy created by Jackson she wrote, directed and produced a prequel based on material from the original JRR Tolkien books.

Scroll down to see the film...

Amateur: Madison as the character Elgarain

Her hour-long movie Born Of Hope, made on a budget of just £25,000, is already a success, with more than 500,000 people viewing it for free on the internet.

Miss Madison, 31, from Cambridge, said that watching the trilogy had blown her mind.
'The battle scenes and the array of incredible characters really inspired me and I was desperate to have a go at making an epic myself,' she said.

Battle: The amateur actress raised a £17,000 by posting a trailer on YouTube appealing for donations

Stunning: Madison went to great lengths to make sure the costumes were as good as in the original films

She put her £8,000 life savings into the project, worked as an office temp to gain extra cash and raised a further £17,000 by posting a trailer on YouTube appealing for donations.

She convinced more than 400 cast and crew to give their time for free, and played the part of Elgarain the forest ranger herself.

And over a year, starting in mid-2008, she filmed Born Of Hope in locations around England

Dramatic: A scene from Born of Hope which has already become a hit with fans on the internet

Low cost: The film was shot in Epping Forest, Essex, and West Stow, Suffolk, after seeking permission from local authorities

Miss Madison said: 'There were times when it was cold and wet and we were up to our eyes in mud standing in the middle of a forest wondering if we could make this a success.

'But now it's all done it's an amazing feeling.'
Her story was based on two paragraphs Tolkien included in the appendix to his books, which mentioned the adventures of Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn, who was played in the Jackson films by Viggo Mortensen.

Winner: Peter Jackson's films took a staggering 17 Oscars in total

It was shot in Epping Forest, Essex, and West Stow, Suffolk, after seeking permission from local authorities.

Christopher Dane, who plays Arathorn in the film alongside Beth Aynsley as his wife Gilraen, said the experience had been 'exhilarating'.

The 45-year-old actor from Muswell Hill, north London, added: 'It was brilliant fun and we have produced an entire film for less than Peter Jackson spent on breakfast for his cast while he was filming the original in New Zealand.'

Jackson's first Lord Of The Rings film, The Fellowship Of The Ring, was released in 2001, followed by The Two Towers in 2002 and The Return Of The King in 2003.

They became among the most successful films of all time, grossing almost $3billion between them.

Jackson is now collaborating with Mexican director Guillermo del Toro on a two-part adaptation of Tolkien's The Hobbit, due for release in 2011 and 2012.

Second Trailer of 'Inception' Reveals Objective

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8Z3PlZTSdIendofvid
[starttext]
Released via Apple, the trailer sheds a bit about Leonardo DiCaprio's mission in the sci-fi thriller which synopsis is kept hidden.

The released synopsis for Christopher Nolan's "Inception" does little to explain what the movie is all about and the newly-released trailer of the movie does not help much either. However, it basically revolves around stealing an idea because it is the "most resilient parasite" and that "your mind is the scene of the crime".

A contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind, the film is centering on Leonardo DiCaprio as some CEO type of guy who wants to steal ideas from other people's mind. From the look of the trailer, the power of idea is able to fold the city and rewrite all the rules.

Supported also by Ellen Page, Ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Cillian Murphy, the movie is looking at July 16, 2010 U.S. release in theaters.

Bruce Willis and his partner Tracy Morgan are dealing with a stolen vintage baseball card case, which finds themselves up against a merciless, memorabilia-obsessed gangster.

The first trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures' "Cop Out" has been made available for viewing pleasure. Making its way out via Apple, the video gives the first look at two longtime NYPD partners, Jimmy and Paul, whose actions in tracking down a stolen vintage baseball card create funny moments in the film.

The film follows Jimmy, whose missing collectible is his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, and his partner Paul, whose preoccupation with his wife's alleged infidelity makes it hard for him to keep his eye on the ball. The two veteran cops are on a stolen, rare, mint-condition baseball card case, which leads them rescuing Gabriela and dealing with gangsters and their money laundering.

Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan take the roles of the cop duo. They are additionally joined by Seann William Scott, Ana de la Reguera and Adam Brody in the cast ensemble. Directed by Kevin Smith, this action comedy will entertain audience who come to theaters across the U.S. starting from February 26, 2010.
