Kara’s Seungyeon takes a hard fall during Music Core performance

On the recent episode of Music Core on March 6th, the five-member group, Kara performed their hit song Lupin.

The group had a great performance like usual but unfortunately, a mistake was made by member Han Seungyeon during the performance.

The choreography for Lupin has been one of the highlights but Seungyeon took a hard fall on the stage when she moved from the back to the center of the stage at 1:08 and it was loud enough to hear the sound of her (or the mic) hitting the stage.

The good thing was that the cameraman switched the cameras to another member right when this fall occured although her fall was still captured cleanly on camera. Seungyeon looked embarassed and sad after she came up from the fall although there were no more major hiccups as the performance ended safely. We hope Seungyeon doesn’t feel too bad about the incident because it could happen to anyone!

A DSP representative expressed afterwards that Seungyeon felt some pain after the fall, but is otherwise perfectly fine and asked that fans do not worry too much.

Lee Jung Hyun to make March comeback

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0Mtk9NGpU8endofvid
[starttext]
Last summer, singer Lee Jung Hyun led promotions with her mini-album and title track Vogue It Girl. Now over half a year later, it’s been revealed that she’ll be making a comeback this month with her 7th album.

If you recall, Lee also recently appeared on the late night talk show Asia Uncut and was even compared to world famous American artist Lady Gaga.

Last time around, this singer gained quite a lot of attention for her unique fashion sense and music, so many eyes are on this upcoming comeback. It’s been revealed that some of Korea’s top composers are currently working on the album.

The album will have a unique style and have a fun new dance. But she’ll also be changing things up a bit as she’ll also feature a ballad track. The main concept will be something different but bold as ideas are being brainstormed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB64ZktcPtQendofvid

Today, K.Will released a one minute teaser of Gift which featured a crying scene of the child actress Jin Ji Hwe from MBC’s High Kick Through the Roof. Other than Jin Ji Hwe, U-Kiss‘ Dongho, BEAST’s Lee Gi Kwang, MBLAQ’s Thunder and Speed Scandal’s child actor Wang Suk Hyun were all also seen crying. It is unclear whether or not they are crying because of happiness or sadness, but it will be something to anticipate for nevertheless. In the one minute teaser, you will get to hear a 30 second preview of Gift.

In the teaser, here are some of the “titles” they were given.

Thunder – “The male who makes chocolate.”

Wang Suk Hyun – “The male who gifts roses.”

Jin Ji Hwe – “The female who receives confessions of love.”

Dongho – “The male who loves teddy bears.”

John Park eliminated from American Idol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eaFVOGDd60endofvid
[starttext]
It was a proud day for Koreans everywhere when Korean American John Park made the Top 24 on American Idol.

John had his second live performance last night, singing John Mayer’s Gravity. However, he received a bit of a harsh review from all the judges. Although he was highly praised for his voice, they commented that the song choice was not appropriate for his vocals.

The judges’ opinion probably influenced the voters’ decision because John Park was one of four that were sent home on today’s episode of the show.

Perhaps John Park should have stuck to singing something like this:

Even if you don’t watch the show, this was a big step for Koreans breaking into the American media. Although it would have been a glorious moment for John to win, he had to pack his bags and go back to Chicago. Luckily he went home happy saying that he had absolutely no regrets.

Byul returns with her Sweet Love single

[starttext]
Korean singer Byul returns to the k-pop scene after being on break for almost half a year. She releases her single album Taste of Love with her title track Sweet Love.

Byul is most famous for her work on the OST of the 2004 Korean drama Full House. The song I Think I gained an immense boost in popularity due to it being played over and over again on the drama. You may also know her for her 2007 hit Cupid. Dressing up in pink and cute clothing, Star took the summer of 2007 by storm with her addictive beat and peppy choreography.

Now she returns with her latest track, featuring the rap of Rhyme Bus. A lot of artists in the k-pop scene are transitioning to the electric hip-hop genre but Byul is staying faithful to her original talents as she brings about another loving happy track. It’s got a nice feel good vibe about it that’s bound to have you smiling aimlessly.

Like several other groups and entertainers, Kara has worked hard to accomplish all that they have up until this point and all their hard work is being paid off with the abundant love they are receiving from fans in the crowd.

As the girls strutted their stuff on stage, gyrating their hallo-worthy sexy figures for their Lupin performance, cheers once again drowned out the majority of the performance. The girls are on a roll and so far, momentum seems to be on their side!

Jung Yonghwa and Yoon Si Yoon’s CF for NII

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO_ZJI2OBpsendofvid
[starttext]
Rising rookies Yoon Si Yoon of High Kick Through the Roof and Jung Yonghwa of CNBLUE shot a CF, “2010 S/S Season TV commercial,” and photos for their endorsement of the clothing line NII.

Jung Yonghwa has been getting a lot of attention as the leader of CNBLUE and their hit song I’m a Loner. Yoon Si Yoon has been making a name for himself as “Junhyuk Student” in High Kick Through the Roof.

The filming of the commercial took place in Bangkok, Thailand and the CF was inspired by the movie Avatar. Does this mean our boys are appearing as blue creatures?

Not quite. The two turn into a cooler looking version of themselves, their avatars, to go out with people.

Check out the 15s CF:

MC Mong and Seo In Young will sing a duet [updated with MV teaser]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1vtkPWWNqgendofvid
[starttext]
MC Mong and Seo In Young will be getting together for a duet.

The two have been chosen to sing composer Jo Young Su’s Bubble Love for his third signature album, All Star 2.5. Jo Young Su is a renowned composer in the music industry and recently won the Best Composer award at the 2009 Cyworld Digital Music Awards.

This song is said to be about an innocent love shared between a couple, and Jo Young Su chose Seo In Young for her strong vocals and MC Mong for his charismatic rapping. However, Seo In Young will have to take her strong vocals down a notch and project a more cute image for the song.

MC Mong and Seo In Young have been known as being best friends, but they have never had the time to record a song together. But with Jo Young Su’s request, the two best friends will finally share a special song together.

The recording of the song almost had to be delayed or a new male rapper had to be chosen due to MC Mong’s recent facial injury, but in order to keep his word, MC Mong showed up to the recording instead of resting.

Other renowned artists such as SG Wanabe, VOS, Seeya’s Kim Yeon Gi, Navi, and Su Ki will be part of Jo Young Su’s All Star 2.5.

T-ara’s music video has over a million hits

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WkMfYju-6Iendofvid
[starttext]
Last week, girl group T-ara made their comeback with their repackaged album Breaking Heart. Following the album release, they also unveiled the music video for their title track I Go Crazy Because of You. It’s now been revealed that the music video has had over a million hits!

It hasn’t even been a full week and the girls have already dominated the charts. The music video has received over a million hits on GomTV, alone.

But does it even come as a surprise? For their previous hits they’ve usually gone for a cute image but they ditched the lollipops and kitty cats as they went for a full on sexy bad girl concept.

And although their sexy title track is quite the hot issue, I’m Really Hurt, another song off their repackaged album, is receiving an enormous amount of love as well.

Currently the girls are pulverizing the competition with their title track. T-ara is currently #1 on various online charts and is beating out big name idol groups like 2NE1, Big Bang, Kara and SNSD.

Clean and Clear CF featuring Seohyun and Krystal released!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkJHzbZwXi0endofvid
[starttext]
As previously reported, SNSD / Girls’ Generation maknae Seohyun and f(x) member Krystal collaborated to film a CF for Clean and Clear.

About a month ago, a behind the scenes look was released through an MBC interview, but the CF took it’s sweet time to hit TV screens across Korea!

Well it’s out now and made available for view on your computer screen:

Both Seohyun and Krystal really do give off an innocent charm, don’t they? The CF depicts a much different feel from their American counterparts as well. It’s almost blasphemous how they don’t use huge celebrities to promote their products, but “scientific studies” and “personal accounts” instead, to attract the consumers.

Personally, I’m more convinced to buy their products by the two beautiful girls.

Appearing on Kim Jung Eun’s Chocolate, the girls got to showcase their individual talents.

With performances ranging from Rihanna to Yangpa, the girls impressed Kim Jung Eun and the audience.

They also gave a slew of introductions in the various languages of the countries they visited. The tour included countries such as Thailand, the Philippines and Taiwan.

4minute’s HyunA also performed her single Change without BEAST’s Junhyung, but had a backup dancer fill in instead.

T-ara is hurt and crazy on SBS Inkigayo!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mh3MlMMIaRcendofvid
[starttext]
Even though they only debuted last July, T-ara’s made quite the impression on Korean music listeners everywhere. After their feminine image from Lies, an adorable (and distinctive) image with Bo Peep Bo Peep, these young ladies have undoubtedly redefined “hot” with their repackaged album, I Go Crazy Because of You.

This week, T-ara’s taken it up a notch with their oh-so-sexy performances on M! Countdown, Music Bank and Music Core, but to wrap up their comeback week on Inkigayo, they also gave us a special performance of I’m Really Hurt, an addictive mid-tempo ballad.

With their all white suits and hats, T-ara proved that they could look sexy with a boyish look as well. Unfortunately, the performance of I’m Really Hurt was all too short. From what we could tell though, the choreography’s looking pretty catchy with that addictive tie-tugging move!

For tonight’s performance of I Go Crazy Because of You, T-ara wore black & pink outfits similar to those from Music Core but with a vibrant line pattern on the black parts. Although not as seizure-inducing (and I say that lovingly) as their flashy music video, the stage is filled with hot pink, orange & purple lights and sparkly background tile-things, giving the performance a very modern feel.

You’ve gotta love Jiyeon’s seeexy sneer at 0:16!

HyunA says goodbye to Change on Inkigayo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgTub1MeKD8endofvid
[starttext]
It’s that time again. Fans get pumped up and excited when idols start promotions, but all good things must eventually come to an end. This time we say goodbye to HyunA and her Change on Inkigayo.

HyunA made her successful debut with group 4minute last year and have since been kicking butt and taking names. Since her solo debut last month, she gave us a good new way to kick start the new year and gave us change we can believe in. She puts on one final flamin’ hot performance so enjoy!

Kara’s final comeback stage on Inkigayo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kyAeHYXRDIendofvid
[starttext]
After three days of nonstop awesome, girl group Kara concludes their successful series of comeback stage performances on today’s Inkigayo!

Although the sharp and incredibly polished performances for Lupin will continue for the remainder of their promotional period, performances for their song Umbrella end today. So say “bye bye” to the cute rain boots, trench coat hoodies and belly rub dancing for now and continue to hallo-back with the ladies of Kara! Is it just me or do their stage performances just get better and better? It’s evident how hard these girls have worked to make their comebacks as polished as possible and they are being well rewarded by the roars of fanchants from the crowd!

Prepare to shield your ears from the hearty chants of kamilia when you check out Kara’s performances below!

SNSD secures Inkigayo Mutizen triple crown with Oh!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTk5eYOTnSQendofvid
[starttext]
One, two and number three!

Having made their comeback with Oh! in late January, it took the 9 girls of SNSD just one month to claim the triple crown on Inkigayo and maintaining their position as the top charting/selling girl group in Korea at the moment.

The girls had been up against 2AM’s Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die, CNBLUE’s I’m A Loner, U-Kiss’s Bingeul Bingeul, Kim Jong Kook’s This is the Person, Min Kyung Hoon’s It Hurts Because It’s Love and 4men’s I Can’t for Take 7 this week but they eventually prevailed against all the other singers.

The girls weren’t around on Inkigayo this afternoon though to receive their trophy as they were preparing for their encore concert, scheduled at almost the same time.

With SNSD maxing out their quota of wins, a new winner will be crowned next week. Who will it be? Stay tuned to allkpop same time next week to find out.

Fans split over Taecyeon and Wooyoung’s smiling faces on Inkigayo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAd6qbjvJB8endofvid
[starttext]
This was coming frankly.

Coming soon after all the controversy revolving around Jaebeom’s contract termination and the ensuing drama, 2PM’s Taecyeon and Wooyoung made their first public appearance on February 28th, hosting Inkigayo with f(x)’s Sulli.

All eyes were on them this afternoon and the duo did not appear too perturbed by events that has happened in the last 72 hours as they hosted the show with their usual bubbly selves, especially during interviews with Heechul, T-ara and Kara.

Straight after the show though, two camps of opinions surfaced on the bulletin boards of the Inkigayo website, over Taecyeon and Wooyoung’s appearance.

Some felt uncomfortable watching them hosting like nothing has happened at all and were behaving like normal. Others felt disappointed and said that they felt betrayed and sad over their actions. Those who were for them said that they can’t be looking sad for a live broadcast and some expressed that life must go on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXkYIt9rkkgendofvid
[starttext]
HyunA was back on Music Core on the afternoon of February 27th as she performed her hit single, Change.

It may have been some time since the single was released but with HyunA globetrotting all over the place for promotions with her 4minute members, it was nice to see her back on stage for some change. But unfortunately for everyone, this is her goodbye stage

Her 4minute members were not sitting idly as they were performing during the half-time show for the K-League opener between Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i and Gyeongnam FC at the Ulsan World Cup Stadium.

Their encore concerts will be their first major concert after their comeback with Oh! and thus new songs from their new album will also be performed on stage.

Wonderfuls give Sunmi love & support with balloon message project

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlzS2EY1WnAendofvid
[starttext]
Amidst all of the JYPE-related gloom & doom that has been emerging as of late, our friends at WG Spectacle Forums recently held an international project to send the Wonder Girls‘ member Sunmi a message before her upcoming departure to Korea. Wonderfuls from all over the world banded together to complete a positive, united message to the beloved 4D with balloons, photos, notes and a video collage that captured the entire experience.

After Sunmi’s last performance at POP-CON last week, Wonderfuls at WG Spec gathered over five hundred messages and tied them to 150 purple hearts, then placed them in front JYPE’s New York City office to show their support.

“To us you will always be a part of WG!” one fan from Brazil wrote in her note. “We will support your decision no matter what. What matters is that you are happy. We’ll always love you!” Another fan from Thailand said, “Even though I don’t want you to leave, I respect your decision. I hope you will be happy with your decision & studies.” Others promised to save the world with Sunmi in the future together, and others reminded her to keep smiling and stay happy with her decision.

Notes were written in English & Korean by fans both in Korea and places all over the world, including the States, Spain, Peru, the UK, Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, Hungary and more. One amazing Wonderful even flew in from Japan for this event.

150 balloons, 500+ worldwide messages, and one beloved 4D. Sunmi, we’re going to miss you – have a safe trip to Korea and make sure to make the most of your studies!

Thanks to Matt for providing the information & media.
